(Ok, I could have changed it, but those word were so nice I just had to leave them in)
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++ The serene philosophy of the pink rose is steadying. Its fragrant, delicate petals open fully and are ready to fall, without regret or disillusion, after only a day
in the sun.It is so every summer. One can almost hear their pink, fragrant
murmur as they settle down upon the grass:
'Summer, summer, it will always be summer.

Take a moment to email those celebrating their special days and share in their celebrations!Be sure to check out our WWWCOF's Celebration Calendar! If your special days are not listed let Bigsis Pat know and she will be sure to get them included!
Jami from Maryland, USA does a great job of reminding us who is celebrating what and when on google so be sure to check in for the cake cutting ceremonies!
This week I "borrowed" Jami's "special announcement", as I thought it deserved special attention.
A VERY "SPECIAL BIRTHDAY " REMEMBRANCE
From: Jami
Date: Tuesday , July 25 2006 3:30 pm
We normally "celebrate those who are amongst us", on their birthdays.
But for a lot of us in our hearts of hearts cannot or will not let the Memories of our dear friends or family ever die as well.I am one of those people. Yet I also believe there are probably some of You who do not feel the same way, possibly even feel it is morbid.
So with this in mind and trying to keep everyone happy, I am starting A new section to our birthday wishes page. This page I would personally Like to dedicate to our very dear friend/sister "Claudia". It will be Called "Claudia’s angel friends".
Please if you would like me to put in print your loved ones on their Special day “in the limelight,” email me at: mizj...@gmail.com .
Now without further ado:
Our dear guardian angel Claudia, we @ WWWCOF would all like to wish You a wonderful birthday darling. Where better than by god's side Would a more precious lady be celebrating her 65th birthday? You are Sooooooo missed here on earth, but your presence is felt always. That Is why you are the WWWCOF's guardian angel!!!!!
Ok everyone, light your candle and let’s start the choir ********
Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday to you
Happy birthday dear Claudia
Happy birthday to you. In your honor Claudia we blow out your candle all over the world!

Hello Dear Prayer Warriors,
Hope this finds everyone doing well. I want to update our Prayer Requests. As you know everything changes from Day to Day.
Our Maxine WWWCOF: Maxine has and is in some pretty bad pain. She is also possibly facing another eye surgery. Please put her on your prayer list that her pain subsides and her eye heals but most of all, "God's Will Be Done." Bless you Maxine we love you.
Our Bea wwwcof: is having some personal requests. She is going through some very hard things with her sibblings. Please put her in your prayers for God to heal her and her family but most of all to have faith in Him. Hang in there Bea. "God can do Anything!"
From Our Dear Pami:Darn Darn Darn as Herman Munster would say on The Munsters...
I thought yesterday was my last chemo but it's was the last for CAV. I found out yesterday I need to go another 4 times every 3 weeks to get Taxotere by IV. Docetaxel is a cancer (antineoplastic) medication. Docetaxel interferes with the growth of cancer cells and slows their growth and spread in the body. Docetaxel is used in the treatment breast and lung cancers. I will be getting chemo until the middle of October and won't see hair until the chemo is over. Alan and I thought it was the last yesterday as I am so exhausted form this chemo already. They have to be agressive with me because of my age and 3 positive nodes. I asked basically yesterday what if I ended my chemo and it only gave me a 40% chance of killing the cancer.
Today I will rest and I am sure the effects of this last chemo will hit me soon. I sleep most of the day when I need to. Makes me wish I bought one of those Craftmatic beds years ago. I really thought I could get a new boob by Christmas ....maybe next?... gives me time to shop around for a good plastic surgeon. It's nice to know that if you lose a breast to cancer you can get a breast reconstruction of your choice. The other day I watched 90210 and it was on breast reconstruction for women with cancer. It's totally amazing although it will never be like your own.
Hugs,
Pami
Our Fl Marie wwwcof: Jamie, her granddaughter, and my niece, will be leaving soon as you know, for Iraq. Please keep her in your prayers for God To surround her and her family with His Protective Angels. That this war end and our troops come home. Bless you Jamie! Also FlMarie is having a somewhat hard time with Jamie's leaving. Please also keep her in your prayers.
Our Christine wwwcof: Christine has experienced losing a precious child recently.Christine taught this child along with other children. She is having a very hard time doing anything with the other children without the little girl being there in the group.Christine knows she is no doubt in heaven with our Lord and Master. Please pray for Christine to have closure and go back to these other little ones whose lives she touches for the rest of their lives.. Bless you Christine. God will heal.
Janet: Granny of the precious baby twins. They are both still in the hospital and doing as well as can be. They still have a long way to go. Becky, their Mommy is completely worn out. Please pray God's will be done. May He heal these babies, so Becky and Dave can have their family home and safe. Janet too, is a bit worn. She has been going to functions to help raise money for them, as both Mommy & Daddy are in the states with the babies. Janets other daughter is due with a baby girl in just a few weeks. May God give you strength Janet. Just leave it in God's Hands. He is the Great Healer!
Charla wwwcof: My daughter will be starting treatments on July 27th. Please pray for her healing and strength. She is quite scared but knows she must go through it. It is a 6 month treatment. May God Please Heal Her and she can go on with her family. I am going to ask for strengthfor myself. It will be very hard to watch her be sick and know I can't do anything. But I know I can pray and you, my friends will pray with me. That is worth more than words. Also I will be going to Indiana August 18, to meet with doctors about my Mother's cancer. Please pray she, Margie, will be as pain free as possible and God's will be done.
I have an unspoken / unnamed prayer request please; Healing and strength for this person please. They are very sick and will be going through extensive treatments for a year. May this person accept Jesus and be healed.
My son in law, Tim's, Granny Fran, is doing better and is at her son's in Illinois for a while. Thank you for your prayers and please continue to keep her in your prayers daily.
Our troops wherever they may be. God Please bestow your protective Angels around them and may this war end soon. May all the families and those touched by war be healed and may they have Faith. May their eyes be upon You. Please give them strength. Help us to always be aware of what they are giving for our Freedom.
In Jesus Name
Please send me any requests or praises and I will make certain it is posted.
There is no call God won't hear as long as we pray in Faith!
Charla
I just got this from Mom, Flmarie wwwcof:
Hi Charla; Just got a letter from My girlfriend Helen up in Northern Canada. Her daughter Linda has a tumor in head right where they cannot operate . She's had it for years but now she is having terrible headaches and will not go to the dr. She is afraid of what he will say . Can't do anything for her but dope her up and she does not want that. Please Have our prayer group Pray for her Flmarie

An Update: Dear Prayer Warriors, I was chatting with Janet, the twin babies Granny, and she said Becky, their Mommy, is a basket case. Little Kevin is having a level 4 bleed on both sides of his brain and was having continuous seizures all night long. They are giving him seizure medication. He also seems to have congestion in his little chest.
Janet made an appointment for tomorrow for Becky to have her 6 week check up and maybe get something to help her through this awful time. She is very depressed, as is most expected.
Please continue to pray for Becky to have the faith, strength and what it takes to get through this. That God's will be done with little Kevin and also his brother Haden.
May God hold this family in the Palm of His Hand and protect them and heal them. Remember the babies are in the states children's hospital and they actually live in Canada. So therefore Daddy Dave, has to be back and forth from the U S to Canada and back.
Becky is there by herself right now. There are no words to explain the fear and feelings of a Mommy in fear for her child and Becky has two. Please pray for her every time you think of them.
Thank You,
In Jesus Name
Charla

You know, until I started doing the newsletter, I never realized how many hardworking folks in the COF there were.
These people work tirelessly day after day, week after week, for no compensation other than the satisfaction of a job well done, and helping others.
So, for this reason, I would like to start a new feature called simply "THANKYOU". Please don't misunderstand, when you see the names I have selected for this issue. These particular fine ladies have helped me personally in doing the newsletter, as well as other things. Without further adieu, I would like offer a big

ToMy dear and special friend Daphne for her hard work on the cookbook as well as looking after our members in the Southern Hemisphere.
To Charla, a special

For tirelessly looking after our spiritual well being with her continuous Prayer Requests AND updates
And number 3 is Jami who started out slowly looking after the celebration greetings, and gradually taking on more and more, and becoming my personal body guard, making sure no one can hurt me (ha ha)

Thanks to all of you.
If anyone has someone they would like to thank please email me and let me know. Please, lets restrict it to WWWCOF only please?
Oh and one more thing. We used to have a member of the month, I would like to re-instate that. So I think we'll try and get a member of the month for august. Email me your nominations.
- Special Project
We are planning a Circle of Friends Letter, that we're calling "Staying in Touch" The concept is, the journal hostess, in this case, Jami will write a cheery note about herself, and her life in our Journal. The notes should be kept brief, no more than one page in length.
It will then be mailed to #1 on the list. When that member recives it she will then write her contribution, and send it to # 3.
When Jami sends the first letter, she will include the list of participants with addresses. This will be Included with the journal, and the name scratched off the list.
Once the journal is filled, it will be returned to Jami, and a new one purchase (you can get them at the dollar store, so we're not looking at a major expense here. So, how does this idea sound to you? A good way not only to keep in touch, but to get to know one another.
If you are in agreement then we need the following info from you: Your name and regular postal address; and your email address is necessary to add you to our contact list.
Have fun with this new way of "Staying in Touch"!!!however most importantly we
Welcome you to World Wide Web Circle of Friends Staying in Touch!
and we cannot wait to get to know you!
Just click on the logo, and you'll be on your way.
Ok here'a an update for this week on the Staying in Touch Project.
I'll turn you over to our co-ordinator Jami for this important information:
Good Morning Ladies & Gents of the WWWCOF:
Just wanted to update you on our new venture "STAYING IN TOUCH".
I was so glad to see so many of you signed up for this, I am really excited about it and hope you will really enjoy it as well.
Please note that the cut off date for sign up was Friday, July 28th. , but has now been extended to Sunday July 30th.This does not mean you have lost your chance to join in. I will just have to do an updated address page for those who were not able to get in on time. Meaning this will take lil longer to get to you. So bear with me. Since Pat would like to ADD this to this weeks newsletter and that does not come out until Friday , Delay is inevitable.
However, Next week has to be the cut off or we will never get this out in the mail to #1 let alone the rest of you. Ok? So please sign up today. See the form in the newsletter? If not email myself or Pat so you dont miss out. Looking to see lots more names and a lot of fun with this book...-- Hugs, Jami.....and remember this...

How are you doing. we are all doing good. Thank you for your prayers. I sure can use them. Sorry i have not written you, but we have been really busy. So we are leaving Sep. 18 as of now, and i am going to Tallil Bagdad. It is an Air Base for the air force, so it should not be too bad. You now the air force always gets all the good stuff. So we are going to be chilling. Grandma try not to worry too much, you know i will be okay, and anyways i am excited about this, as weird as it might sound. It is going to be interesting, and i get a chance to give back to my country, and in a way to my family and friends. I know it is going to be the hardest thing I have ever done, but it is also going to be the most rewarding thing i will ever do. I know it is kind of hard to understand, but this is why i joined the army. i wanted to be a part of something bigger, and this is about as big as you can get.Anyways ........
GIVE HIM A HUG FOR ME AND A HUG FOR YOU.
I gotta go.

Hello,
The newsletter is great. Hope Sharon is ok, however I know we all come to a place in life when we have a lot on us. I wanted to share a poem I wrote last year.......I'm not a writer,
but when I have something on my mind, that is what I do. Let me know (honestly) what you think.Christine
My Story I didn't know the woman at the well;
but I know the story she would tell.
No one knows me, for they cannot see,
All the many faces and sides of me.Only God knows for sure;
Just how much I can endure.
He sees my strengths and weaknesses too,
That is how, each day, I make it through. When I'm lonely, lost or blue,
I call on God, only He knows what to do.
He has been watching over me from above
What would I do without His mercy and love!!Each day I repent and say,
Lord I'm sorry for what I do;
But He says, Child,
that's why I went to Calvary... for You!I can never love Him enough or even make amends,
For the way I am loved and the the blessings he sends.
Lord, let me cross over to be with you
Don't let me fail as I try hard to pray through.Don't let my love for others hold me back
Teach me to correct all that I lack.
The one thing I want is to see you in Glory
That is really MY life's story.Christine Mills
One of the sections of our Pursuit of Excellence challenge is all about INTELLECTUAL Challenges.
I'm going to leave this here for this week as a reminder of our new project, "Staying in Touch", what better way to challenge yourself intellectually than by communication to others in the Circle through our journal.

INTELLECTUAL CHALLENGES 1. Plan and undertake a reading program of uplifting, outstanding literature. The selection of books may reflect a variety of interests or may emphasize one particular theme.
2. Develop a new interest in any creative field (such as poetry, fiction, music, composition, art, dance, crafts, photography, drama) or in a hobby (such as coin, nature, or stamp collections; woodwork, astronomy). Emphasize involvement and participation in a area that is new to you.
3. ....
4. ....
5. ....
EXAMPLES OF INTELLECTUAL CHALLENGES 1. Enlarge a talent you have already developed, such as music, painting, writing, and dance. Pursue excellence to the point of performing, exhibiting, or publishing our talent for others.
2. Expand your cultural appreciation by completing a one-year study program of an art form available in your area, such as operas, symphony concerts, theater, museums, ballets, and folk dancing.
3. Enlarge your cultural appreciation by regularly attending cultural events available in your area.
4. Participate in a book-review group on a regular basis. Selections may come from any literary category, including biography, dramas, fiction and poetry.
5. Within your own family or WWWCOF friends, participate in a structured study of other countries. Prepare and present material about different countries and cultures.
6. Improve your knowledge in a specific academic field, such as history, science, literature, political science, or philosophy. Where possible, attend classes or lecture series in the field you have chosen.
7. Develop fundamental speaking and writing skills in another language.
Can you see the possibilities here? Communicate with other members and explore their unique and different life experiences, ideas and languages. The World Wide Web Circle of Friends consists of many people, many cultures, many religions, one heart, one world! Within our membership you will find a wide variety of personalities, interests, backgrounds, and ages ... a group of friends that spans the decades - from the youth to great - great - grandparents and everything in between. This should really help us to accomplish the challenges we set for ourselves!
With ordinary talent and extraordinary perseverance, all things are attainable. ~ Thomas Foxwell Buxton
PEN PAL CLUB
How are things going with you and your penpal. Are you getting to know them a whole lot better? Is there anything you would like to share with us about them?
MY Pen Pal
JamiI want to say to all of you if you hadn't signed up for a penpal , please do so now!
You are missing out on meeting someone very special. I Was very blessed with getting paired up with Dahpne Lunda. Not only did I meet a new "FRIEND" from another country, I met a very SPECIAL Lady. She and I have not just become casual friends but very very close friends who share many of the same ideas and interests. and even if we dont always agree, somehow she makes you feel as though your special anyways. She is warm, considerate, and funny. She is sensitve, loving and cares so deeply about people and especially the WWWCOF.
I have not done anything special for her, yet she has sent me numerous cards, and pictures, we communicate not as often as I'd like ( my fault) but when we do it is always such a refreshing conversation that keeps me smiling all day.
-- I Love this woman dearly, and hope she feels the same. If it wasnt for the start of a penpal group, I never would have gotten to know Daphne. I encourage you all to be sure and sign up and meet your new special person...
Also, I think our new KEEPING IN TOUCH NOTEBOOK will also be great way to meet all our members. What a rush, meeting new friends from all over the world. As Sharon put it when she started... One language, one love...Amen to that!!!!
Love to All, Lets make Sharon proud of us, keep the lines of communication going and the WWWCOF alive while she is on sabatical. So when she returns she can be even more proud of what she has "CREATED". we are one remember, there is no I IN TEAM...
Hugs, Jami...

This is the latest update for the : Circle's Planet Awareness site, a site where we talk about altenative energies, animals in danger, native trees and plants, international disasters etc, and could use the collaboration of others members.
Alternative Energies:
Tidal Power Project
Electrical entrepreneurs may soon harness the power of the ocean. Canada's first free- stream tidal-power project will launch in 2006, generating environmentally friendly electricity at Race Rocks reserve off southern Vancouver Island.
A turbine with 3.5 metre blades will be anchored underwater to capture the power of tidal currents running past the rocks twicwe a day. The seven-knot current should generate 80,000 to 100,000 kilowatt hours per year – thats enough to power 8 typical B.C. homes.
Collaborating on the demonstration project, are Clean Current, which is designing and patenting the generating system, and En Cana, an independent gas company investing in the new technology.
The clean, renewable tidal energy will replace two deisel generators on Race Rock that currently powers the reserve's quarters and a marine education centre with its science laboratory, underwater tanks, computers and underwater cameras. This will be the first sustained field testing of the technology in a harsh marine environment, and could foster more tidal power projects around the world.

What Happens in Heaven!
This is one of the nicest mails I have seen and is so true:
I dreamt that I went to Heaven and an angel was showing me around. We walked side-by-side inside a large workroom filled with angels.
My angel guide stopped in front of the first section and said, "This is the Receiving Section. Here, all petitions to God said in prayer are received." I looked around in this area, and it was terribly busy with so many angels sorting out petitions written on voluminous papersheets and scraps from people all over the world.
Then we moved on down a long corridor until we reached the second section. The angel then said to me, This is the Packaging and Delivery Section. Here, the graces and blessings the people asked for are processed and delivered to the living persons who asked for them." I noticed again how busy it was there. There were many angels working hard at that station, since so many blessings had beenrequested and were being packaged for delivery to Earth.
Finally, at the farthest end of the long corridor, we stopped at the door of a very small station. To my great surprise, only one angel was seated there, idly doing nothing.
"This is the Acknowledgment Section," my angel friend quietly admitted to me. He seemed embarrassed. "How is it that? There's no work going on here?" I asked. "So sad," the angel sighed. "After people receive the blessings that they asked for, very few send back acknowledgments." "How does one acknowledge God's blessings? "I asked.
"Simple," the angel answered. "Just say, "Thank you, Lord." "What blessings should they acknowledge?" I asked. "If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep, you are richer than75% of this world."
"If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish, you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy." "And if you get this on your own computer, you are part of the 1% in the world who has that opportunity." Also...
"If you woke up this morning with more health than illness, you are more blessed than the many who will not even survive this day."
"If you have never experienced the fear in battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs ofstarvation, you are ahead of 700 million people in the world."
"If you can attend a church meeting without the fear of harassment, arrest, torture or death, you are envied by, and moreblessed than, three billion people in the world. "If your parents are still alive and still married, you are very rare.
"If you can hold your head up and smile, you are not the norm, you are unique to all those in doubt and despair."
"Ok, what now? How can I start?"
"If you can read this message, you just received a double blessing in that someone was thinking of you as very special and you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world who cannot read at all."
Have a good day, count your blessings, and if you want, pass this along to remind everyone else how blessed we all are.Attn: Acknowledge Dept:

Words to Live By
1. Faith is the ability to not panic.
2. If you worry, you didn't pray. If you pray, don't worry.
3. As a child of God, prayer is kind of like calling home every day.
4. Blessed are the flexible, for they shall not be bent out of shape.
5. When we get tangled up in our problems, be still. God wants us to
be still so He can untangle the knot.
6. Do the math. Count your blessings.
7. God wants spiritual fruit, not religious nuts.
8. Dear God: I have a problem. It's me.
9. Silence is often misinterpreted, but never misquoted.
10. Laugh every day; it's like inner jogging.
11. The most important things in your home are the people.
12. Growing old is inevitable, growing up is optional.
13. There is no key to happiness. The door is always open.
14. A grudge is a heavy thing to carry.
15. He who dies with the most toys is still dead.
16. We do not remember days, but moments. Life moves too fast, so
enjoy your precious moments.
17. Nothing is real to you until you experience it; otherwise it's
just hearsay.
18. It's all right to sit on your pity pot every now and again. Just
be sure to flush when you are done.
19. Surviving and living your life successfully requires courage. The
goals and dreams you're seeking require courage and risk taking. Learn from
the turtle, it only makes progress when it sticks out its neck.
20. Be more concerned with your character than your reputation. Your
character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what
others think you are.

STOP PRESSES
Hi Pat, Last night (Wednesday) just as I was discussing the world's weather with my daughter in Spain (30º C there at midnight) here we were having a terrible thunderstorm with intense rain (Thunder storm in mid winter??) after days of damp foggy weather.
Meanwhile in Buenos Aires 400 km ( 250 miles away) they had what is referred to a historic hailstorm with hail stones up to 6 cm across. 14 people were seriously injured and thousands of cars damaged, mainly dents in the roof, and broken windscreens and back windows.
In a covered carpark, the roof collapsed under the weight of the ice stones damaging all 20 cars parked there.
Meanwhile, over in the west in the Andes, they are battling with intense snow and sleet storms.

Enjoy your summer, bye!
