Love Mom(FlMarie)
This is an awful thing to face knowing your loved one will be leaving you soon. No matter who we are or how strong our faith is, this is a very hard thing to go through. I recived this adorable Guardian angel sent to me by Jeanette. I thought this would be the prefect place so she could watch over all in distress.
Normally the following would be placed under the "Mesages from Members",
but under the circumstances I believe here is the appropriate spot.
A little bit of humour
Hello all,
I want to share something my granddaughter said to me. Haley is living with us and I sleep in her bed with her until she gets to sleep. Well the other night I fell asleep and was awakened by her shoving me and saying,"Memaw stop snoring so loud you are waking me up." I remember her again saying,"Memaw snore quieter so I can sleep." I told her I couldn't help it, she says,"Yes you can, just keep listening and when you get loud stop it!" It was hysterical. That's our Haley.

Ruby, our travelling mascot, who has spent the last six weeks or so with Maxine (Ontario Canada)helping her with the crisis of her delicate great nephew twins, Is on her way to Maryland to spend a long awaited stay with Jami in Maryland, and is scheduled to help her out with her work there.
I take this opportunity to point out, that Ruby's job is to travel around and visit all the Circle members she can, with those who have not yet met her or had her to visit having priority. Once we have completed those on the first timer's list, then we will consider starting up a second time round list. So please be patient everyone, meanwhile visit her site, read up on her adventures so far.
Check out what is happening in Ruby's life here at her site. You can leave messages for Ruby and /or get on her visiting list on her site Daphne has also put in a translator in the pages in both Spanish and Portuguese.
Ruby has her own games section where you can play countries and capitals hangman, tic tac toe, a variety of Ruby's own jigsaw puzzles among others, and Ruby would love you to stop by for what she calls her "chocolate milkshake break time".

As the Keeping in Touch Journal makes it way around the world, I'd like for folks to let us know when it arrives, your feelings when reading others thoughts; and when you send it on to it's next destination.
The Keeping in Touch Journal landed at it's first destination on Wednesday, (here), and I must say Jami did a wonderful job of putting this together in a simple but esthetic way. Her letter was very touching and insightful.
I will be adding my letter, and a translation into Portuguese for Grac & Talyta. I will posting it tomorrow and sending it to Graca, who will give it to her daughter. Then it will be sent to daphne who will translate their letters for the rest of us.
Cease to be idle; cease to be unclean and cease to sleep longer than is needful.

And here's some more advice from sharon.
Create a Sense of Serenity...be sure to keep this with your WWWCOF Pursuit of Excellence material!
There's enough chaos in the world, but you can instead create serenity in your personal world. Here are 7 easy ideas:
1. Get rid of one thing. If the prospect of ridding your entire house of clutter seems to be am impossible feat, make it your goal to get rid of just one thing you don't need each day.
2. Clear the clutter out of your vehicle. Get rid of candy wrappers, soda cans, old papers, magazines and other trash on a daily basis.
3. Eliminate the chaos from your desk. The surface of your desk should be free of all papers and other debris to set the stage for productivity and creative thinking.
4. Wake up earlier. Stop rushing around each day. Wake up earlier so you have enough time to relax with a cup of coffee, to step outside and breathe in the fresh air or to read a chapter in your favorite inspirational book.
5. Dedicate 30 minutes to You. Schedule no less than 30 minutes each day to do something you love. Keep that appointment, just as you would any other important one.
6. Make your bedroom a restful haven. Every morning, make your bed right after you get up. Remove the piles of paper. Clear off the dresser tops. Put any dirty clothes in the laundry room. Remove the dusty stuff stored under the bed and get rid of anything you no longer need. When you're ready to go to bed at night, you should be able to do so in a peaceful, uncluttered place.
7. Sprinkle in some rewards. Many people agonize just trying to get through their To Do lists. To make your day more fulfilling, while still getting things done, sprinkle rewards throughout your day. For example, take 10 minutes to do something you enjoy after every single task you complete.

Messages from Members
Do be sure to take a moment to email them and say hello from your corner of the globe!
I received this email from a person from whom I got some free books on the Port Colborne Freecycle site, of which I'm a moderator.
While reading one of the books I found her bookmark. It wasn't just any bookmark, but one with her name on it, and what the name means. so I decided to return it to her.
It gave me such a fantastic feeling I had to share.
What a wonderful surprise!!
Good morning Pat.
It took me a while to find your address again, but I found it.
I just wanted to say thank you sooo much, not just for taking the time to mail me back my bookmark, but the extra time, energy and care to make me another one-of-a-kind bookmark and the beautiful card! I work part-time in a place where I here so much negative, about the nasty stuff one person does to another. This is a great reminder to me that there are still good, caring people out there, one's that actually go the extra mile!! In my other part-time work, I run community workshops and one of them is a journaling workshop. I use many props in order to help people motivate and inspire themselves to journal (not skilled writing, but personal _expression for therapeutic purposes). I would like to use this bookmark you've made me as an example of something to use with the suggested books of inspiration and in their personal space. May I use it?
Again, thanx for your wonderful jolt of positive energy.
I hope the rest of your summer is good to you.
"A house becomes a home when you can write
"I love you" on the furniture."
I can't tell you how many countless hours
that I have spent CLEANING!
I used to spend at least 8 hours every weekend
making sure things were just perfect --
"in case someone came over."
Then I realized one day that no-one came over;
they were all out living life and having fun!
Now, when people visit, I find no need to explain the "condition" of my home. They are more interested in hearing about the things I've been doing while I was
away living life and having fun. If you haven't figured this out yet, please heed this advice.
Life is short. Enjoy it!
Dust if you must, but wouldn't it be better to paint a picture or write a letter, bake a cake or plant a seed,
ponder the difference between want and need?
Dust if you must, but there's not much time, with rivers to swim and mountains to climb, music to hear and books to read, friends to cherish and life to lead.
Dust if you must, but the world's out there with the sun in your eyes, the wind in your hair, a flutter of snow,
a shower of rain. This day will not come around again.
Dust if you must, but bear in mind, old age will come and it's not kind. And when you go -- and go you must --
you, yourself will make more dust!
Share this with all the wonderful people in your life!
I JUST DID.
It's not what you gather, but what you scatter that tells what kind of life you have lived.
This is a fire rainbow - the rarest of all naturally occuring atmospheric phenomena.
The picture was captured this week on the Idaho/Washington border. The event lasted about 1 hour.
Clouds have to be cirrus, at least 20k feet in the air, with just the right amount of ice crystals and the sun has to hit the clouds at preceisely 58 degrees.
A six-year-old boy told his father he wanted to marry the little girl across the street. The father, being modern and well-schooled in handling children, hid his smile behind his hand.
"That's a serious step," he said. "Have you thought it out completely?"
"Yes," his young son answered. "We can spend one week in my room and the next in hers. It's right across the street, so I can run home if I get scared of the dark."
"How about transportation?" the father asked.
"I have my wagon, and we both have our tricycles," the little boy answered. The boy had an answer to every question the father raised. Finally, in exasperation, his dad asked, "What about babies? When you're married, you're liable to have babies, you know."
"We've thought about that, too," the little boy replied. "We're not going to have babies. Every time she lays an egg, I'm going to step on it!"
I must send my thanks to whoever sent me the one about rat poop in the glue on envelopes because I now have to use a wet towel with every envelope that needs sealing.
Also, now I have to scrub the top of every can I open for the same reason.
I no longer have any savings because I gave it to a sick girl (Penny Brown) who is about to die in the hospital for the 1,387,258th time.
I no longer have any money at all, but that will change once I receive the $15,000 that Bill Gates/Microsoft and AOL are sending me for participating in their special e-mail program.
I no longer worry about my soul because I have 363,214 angels looking out for me, and St. Theresa's novena has granted my every wish.
I no longer eat KFC because their chickens are actually horrible mutant freaks with no eyes or feathers.
I no longer use cancer-causing deodorants even though I smell like a water buffalo on a hot day.
Thanks to you, I have learned that my prayers only get answered if I forward an email to seven of my friends and make a wish within five minutes.
Because of your concern I no longer drink Coca Cola because it can remove toilet stains.
I no longer can buy gasoline without taking a man along to watch the car so a serial killer won't crawl in my back seat when I'm pumping gas.
I no longer drink Pepsi or Dr. Pepper since the people who make these products are atheists who refuse to put "Under God" on their cans.
I no longer use Saran wrap in the microwave because it causes cancer.
And thanks for letting me know I can't boil a cup water in the microwave anymore because it will blow up in my face...disfiguring me for life.
I no longer check the coin return on pay phones because I could be pricked with a needle infected with AIDS.
I no longer go to shopping malls because someone will drug me with a perfume sample and rob me.
I no longer receive packages from UPS or FedEx since they are actually Al Qaeda in disguise.
I no longer shop at Target since they are French and don't support our American troops or the Salvation Army.
I no longer answer the phone because someone will ask me to dial a number for which I will get a phone bill with calls to Jamaica, Uganda, Singapore, and Uzbekistan.
I no longer have any sneakers -- but that will change once I receive my free replacement pair from Nike.
I no longer buy expensive cookies from Neiman Marcus since I now have their recipe.
Thanks to you, I can't use anyone's toilet but mine because a big brown African spider is lurking under the seat to cause me instant death when it bites my butt.
Thank you too for all the endless advice Andy Rooney has given us. I can live a better life now because he's told us how to fix everything.
And thanks to your great advice, I can't ever pick up $5.00 I dropped in the parking lot because it probably was placed there by a sex molester waiting underneath my car to grab my leg.
Oh, and don't forget this one either!
I can no longer drive my car because I can't buy gas from certain gas companies!
If you don't send this e-mail to at least 144,000 people in the next 70 minutes, a large dove with diarrhea will land on your head at 5:00 PM this afternoon and the fleas from 12 camels will infest your back, causing you to grow a hairy hump.
I know this will occur because it actually happened to a friend of my next door neighbor's ex-mother-in-law's second husband's cousin's beautician...
Have a wonderful day.

A South American scientist from Argentina, after a lengthy study, has discovered that people with insufficient brain and sexual activity read their e-mail with their hand on the mouse.
Don't bother taking it off now, it's too late.

"The purpose of life is ... to know oneself. We cannot do so unless we learn to identify ourselves with all that lives." -- Mohandas K. Gandhi.
And I think this is the perfect spot for the folloing that was sent to me by Jeanette. This has been a rounf for many years, most of you have seen I'm sure. However, i think it is perfect and signifies to many of us what our relationships in the WWWCOF mean to us.
Dear Friends,
I am sending this to you to see how many actually read their e-mail.
Your response will be interesting. Pay attention to what you read.
After you have finished reading it, you will know the reason it was
sent to you. Here goes:
People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime. When
you know which one it is, you will know what to do for that person.
When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a
need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a
difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you
physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend
and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be.
Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time,
this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an
end. Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away. Sometimes they act
up and force you to take a stand. What we must realize is that Our
need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The
prayer You sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.
Some people come into your life for a SEASON, because your turn has
come to share, grow or learn. They bring you an experience of peace
or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done.
They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it, it
is real. But only for a season.!
LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons, things you must
build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is
to accept the lesson, love the person and put what you have learned
to use in all other relationships and areas of your life. It is said
that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.
Thank you for being a part of my life, whether you were a reason, a
season or a lifetime.

Tidal Power Project
Electrical entrepreneurs may soon harness the power of the ocean. Canada's first free- stream tidal-power project will launch in 2006, generating environmentally friendly electricity at Race Rocks reserve off southern Vancouver Island.
A turbine with 3.5 metre blades will be anchored underwater to capture the power of tidal currents running past the rocks twicwe a day. The seven-knot current should generate 80,000 to 100,000 kilowatt hours per year – thats enough to power 8 typical B.C. homes.
Collaborating on the demonstration project, are Clean Current, which is designing and patenting the generating system, and En Cana, an independent gas company investing in the new technology.
The clean, renewable tidal energy will replace two deisel generators on Race Rock that currently powers the reserve's quarters and a marine education centre with its science laboratory, underwater tanks, computers and underwater cameras. This will be the first sustained field testing of the technology in a harsh marine environment, and could foster more tidal power projects around the world.
Remember Jeanette from the Land Down Under has set up a trivia challenge on FunTrivia.com for us so please join in on the fun.
New questions will appear each day, and everyone can compare scores at the
link above throughout the day. Try to answer questions quickly, because the
quizzes are timed. The best cumulative scores at the end of the month go
into the hall of fame. See you there!
Friendship
" A friendship can weather most things and thrive in the soil; But it needs a little mulch of letters, phone calls and small silly presents ever so often - just to save it from drying out completely"
TRUE MEANING 0F LOVE
It was a busy morning, approximately 8:30 am, when an elderly gentleman in his 80's, arrived to have stitches removed from his thumb. He stated that he was in a hurry as he had an appointment at 9:00 am.
I took his vital signs and had him take a seat, knowing it would be over an hour before someone would to able to see him. I saw him looking at his watch and decided, since I was not busy with another patient, I would evaluate his wound.
On exam it was well healed, so I talked to one of the doctors, got the needed supplies to remove his sutures and redress his wound.
While taking care of his wound, we began to engage in conversation. I asked him if he had a doctor's appointment this morning, as he was in such a hurry. The gentleman told me no, that he needed to go to the nursing home to eat breakfast with his wife.
I then inquired as to her health. He told me that she had been there for a while and that she was a victim of Alzheimer Disease. As we talked, and I finished
dressing his wound, I asked if she would be worried if he was a bit late. He replied that she no longer knew who he was, that she had not recognized him in five years now.
I was surprised, and asked him. "And you still go every morning, even though she doesn't know who you are?"
He smiled as he patted my hand and said, "She doesn't know me, but I still know who she is."
I had to hold back tears as he left, I had goose bumps on my arm, and thought, "That is the kind of love I want in my life."
True love is neither physical, nor romantic True love is an acceptance of all that is, has been, will be, and will not be.
Oh, by the way, peace is seeing a sunset and knowing who to thank. "The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the best of everything that comes along their way."
Interesting we have submissions from the west coast and (almost) the east coast, both having to do with the marine heritage which is an important part of Canadian History. So read on and enjoy.

Hey everyone! Finally a long overdue long weekend. BC Day here in British Columbia but Monday was a civic holiday country wide!
This holiday just happens to co-incide with Ladysmith Days. The new and ongoing theme for Ladysmith Days celebrates Ladysmith's unique historical legacy. Starting this weekend Ladysmith Days honours the history of the town and its citizens, along with the stunning scenic
beauty of the region, with the theme "Heritage by the Sea".
Today there was a Rotary Club Pancake breakfast followed by the Kinsman Parade down First Avenue and following the parade was the the ever popular Soapbox Derby and so much more all weekend long. The Maritime Society offers free harbour tours all day Saturday and Sunday and there
is a bullhead fishing derby, world strongman competion, bathtub races in Ladysmith Harbour.
Tomorrow, Sunday, is family day with food vendors and artisans, kids' rides, kayaking for kids, youth dance shows and entertainment all day.
It starts off with the Eagles Pancake Breakfast.
Fun for kids includes the Ronald McDonald Sports Zone, an interactive entertainment attraction with sports games that is geared to all ages.
This attraction encourages parents to interact with their children while building their children's self-esteem and
creating awareness about the importance to Go Active? and it is absolutely free.!
Participants of the games in the Ronald McDonald Sports Zone have the opportunity to win great food & toy prizes with unlimited playing time in the attraction.
There is also a horseshoe tournament, Taekwondo demonstrations, Solar Powered Road Show Bubble Machine, Merry-Go-Swing, Ginormous Slide & Bouncy Castle. Sand Volleyball Tournament, Kids games and activities with
Ladysmith Parks, Recreation & Culture, Ladies' Nail Driving Contest, Eagles Steak BBQ, Logger Sports, Live Entertainment (Classic Country, 50s & 60s Rock n Roll, High Energy Rock, & Belly Dancing), and Fireworks.
